Create the email

Start by copying an existing email in your account at app.smartraise.net.

Name the new email something like “Upsell one-off to recurring”.

Customise the subject and text - you could add a link to your recurring donation form as a button.

Decide who to target

Choose whether you want the email to go to:

  1. Everyone who makes a one-off donation?
  2. Or a specific group (like people from particular campaign forms)?

Option 1 - Everyone

To target everyone who makes a one-off donation, you can add the follow-up email to your existing thankyou automations.

Our default setup includes up to two thankyou automations that trigger for one-off payments - one for GoCardless and one for Stripe:

To add a follow-up email:

  1. Click Manage scheduled emails from the automation's vertical-dot menu:

  2. Click Add New Scheduled Email:

  3. Select your email from the dropdown:

  4. Select how long an interval you'd like before the follow-up email is sent, e.g. 2 days, 1 month or whatever gap you feel is suitable:

  5. Click Create Scheduled Email:
